Wage Theft in Oregon with Michael Dale of the Northwest Workers' Justice Project

Hosts Celeste Carey and Cecil Prescod speak with Michael Dale, executive director, Northwest Workers' Justice Project, about wage theft and how some Oregon workers aren't getting paid what they are owed.

Recent high-profile wage-theft busts on state-funded construction jobs have raised public awareness of the problem in the state. Since Thanksgiving, the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries or "BOLI" has announced settlements recovering two-point-seven million dollars in unpaid wages for construction workers on state-funded projects. But Dale says workers in many fields, particularly in rural Oregon, can't always get the help they need if they aren't being paid fairly – or paid at all.
