What are the working conditions in the factories that produce those holiday gifts during this hectic shopping season? Jeff Ballinger is probably best known for his work on bringing to light labor conditions for workers producing Nike shoes, but his labor rights research and advocacy goes back to the Clothing Workers union's "Farah pants" boycott and the JP Stevens campaign (remember Norma Rae?). Debby Cheng Yi Yi works for the Students and Scholars Against Corporate Misbehavior, based in Hong Kong, and has extensive experience with the production pipeline for those popular new iPads.

She'll speak with journalist Sarah Posner about the religious crusade against abortion in the Lone Star State. Posner details the shift in religious efforts against abortion in Texas, away from a national push led by major evangelicals towards a more local, militant strategy. While abortion hasn't played a central role in the presidential campaign, that, too, is a product of the shift in strategy: anti-choice activists are focused not on overturning Roe v. Wade (although that remains a crucial goal).
