All talk of "recovery" aside, it has become clear that we have emerged into a new normal, in which jobs are scarce, working-class wages are stagnant and more and more wealth coagulates at the very top of the scale. How did this new Gilded Age come to pass, and how can we move beyond it? Abe and Joe take your calls.

Paul Cienfuegos - Community Rights

Paul Cienfuegos is a regional leader in the Community Rights movement, which works to dismantle corporate constitutional so-called "rights" and assert the people's inherent right to self-government. He founded Democracy Unlimited of Humboldt County in 1995, co-founded in 2011, and is helping to establish the Oregon Community Rights Network which launched in 2013. He is based in Portland, Oregon.

Dmae Roberts features two backstage interviews at her home studio about two Shakespeare plays about to open in Portland.

First she talks with founding artistic director Michael Mendelson of the Portland Shakespeare Project. They’re producing The Tempest at  Artists Rep's Alder stage. The production stars veteran actress Linda Alper as “Prospera” a magical role usually performed by a male actor. PSP is also presenting a staged reading of The Admirable Crichton by J.M. Barrie (of Peter Pan fame) directed by Jon Kretzu.
