Talking about climate change: why we must, how best to do it

Rapid ice melt and extreme weather events are on the rise. Climate change is matching or exceeding experts' worst projections. Taking action, however, is still a low priority for most Americans. The topic rarely comes up in conversation with friends or family, although polls indicate it's those conversations that are most likely to stimulate active concern. Two-thirds - 67% - of us rarely or never discuss climate with friends or family, 28% talk about it only occasionally; and getting into a conversation with that friend or relative who's a skeptic can be daunting, even for the 4% of us who discuss climate frequently.  How to bring this crucial issue into the conversation? How to spell out our concerns?
