Fiction writer Terry Bisson talks about his new novel "Any Day Now," his life and his work.

Terry Bisson, author of the novel "Any Day Now" and other novels and short stories talks about his long career as a writer with host Richard Wolinsky. (From the series Bookwaves)

Bisson says "My new novel Any Day Now is not exactly science fiction; and not exactly not. It's an alternate history of 1968 that begins in the 1950s and about which John Crowley was kind enough to say, "If you were there then, this is where you were."

Today Andrew explores the area that was the Rock Island Clubhouse, a popular attraction for the elite of Portland in the early 1900's.

Interview with Phillip Charette and local Idle No More organizers.
Thursday, January 17th, on Tillicum Wawa we will be talking with Phillip Charette and some local organizers of Idle No More. Phillip Charette is an Alaskan Native American artist who specializes in contemporary art in the Yup'ik tradition. His works include Yup’ik masks, fine-art prints, mixed-media sculpture, healing jewelry, and Yup'ik drums. He is also a musician who composes and plays Native American flute music, and he custom-designs his own Native American-style flutes. Be sure to tune in!
