Live in Studio: SICK RATS

Portland's own SICK RATS join us live in studio!

From the Upper Extremities column: David Rose (Freedom Club/The Know): Sick Rats
"...they truly stand out from the pack, offering a fresh take on post-punk by filtering it through a sieve of Midwestern punk and KBD-style scuzz. They possess an ability to retain energy and urgency despite a somewhat plodding tempo (comparatively to what we often expect on the punk/hc 'circuit'), which can be attributed to jagged/shrill guitar interplay with a layer of swaggering low-end. And did I mention commanding vocals from a banshee of a frontwoman and plenty of feedback? Sick Rats are sick shit!"

Watch them in action here and get ready!

Is a single, democratic Israel-Palestine state the only option left?

Is a single, democratic state in Israel-Palestine the only option left? An interview with Jeff Halper.

So far this year, Israel has demolished 140 houses in the Occupied Territories, displacing 702 Palestinians, bringing the total for displaced persons since 2009 to 3,045. The demolition of Palestinian residences and the continued building of new settlements in the Occupied Territories are just two indicators that time is running out for a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian crisis. Is it time to let go of the two-state solution and consider a single democratic state?
