"The Flatlanders" Featured On "Swing & Country"

Forty years ago, three guys sharing a house together in Lubbock Texas formed a band and recorded some songs. They stuck together for a couple of years but nobody was really listening or interested in giving them a record deal. They disbanded in1973, went their seperate ways and all ended up having successful solo careers. Interest in those recorded tracks from 1972 was aroused and as a result Rounder Records produced an album entitled "More A Legend Than A Band" in 1990. The Flatlanders comprised of singer-songwriters Joe Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmore and Butch Hancock reunited in 1997 to co-write and sing "South Wind of Summer" for the soundtrack of Robert Redford's movie "The Horse Whisperer".
