Hedy West died in July 2005.  She wrote and arranged "500 Miles" but the song she did that I hear most is Henry's arrangement of "Little Sadie".  Henry chose four of her songs to note her passing including "Little Sadie".

On Sunday, February 3, I filled in at the last minute as host of the 9 to 10 pm slot. That's during the time when I usually do my world beat program Pulse of the Blue Planet (8 to 10), so I've used that title for posting this playlist.  Actually, the tracks listed were meant to be a future broadcast of Whole World Music ("music from around the world and across all categories . . ."), which I present once a month from 11 pm to midnight on Friday.  That's why you see the inclusion of a piece by classical composer Heinrich Schütz (1585-1672)  and Tom Jobim's Dindi sung by Sinatra.  (Those guys are all world-beat types anyway.)  Thanks to those who called in, especially to the woman who said she was "stoked" by my program. - Craig Burk
