Denise Morris hosts this episode of the Old Mole which includes
  • Bill Resnick interviews Brian Tokar about Bernie Sanders and his recently announced bid to become a 2016 presidential candidate. Brian Tokar directs the Institute for Social Ecology n Burlington, VT, teaches at the U of VT, and has written several books. He's known and challenged Bernie Sanders from the beginning of both their careers, Tokar as a developing radical, Sanders as mayor of Burlington and running as an independent.
  • The Left and the Law with Jan Haaken and Mike Snedeker features a discussion about the role of video cameras in anti-police activism, documenting police abuse, and the movement to have officers wear video cameras on duty. Does it matter who is holding the camera?
  • Well Read Red Tom Becker reads the article Warrior Capitalism, Middle Class? What Middle Class? Written by Jack A. Smith about the disappearance of class terms, i.e., ruling class, upper class, working class, in political discussion by both politicians and journalists and the political consequences of that. Now the author contends the lone remaining class term--the middle class-- is also on its way out.
  • Politics and Psychology with Jan Haaken and Tod Sloan discuss what psychoanalytic psychology can tell us about public responses to climate change and environmental activism--and how to imagine that another world is possible.
