51 performances in 29 hours: 36 musical, 5 visual, 4 youth, 3 movement, and 3 spoken performances within 18 hours of hard programming. Not to mention 10 full month exhibitions in 7 galleries and 2 surprise installations. What I'm trying to say is that this is the most complex and cross-disciplinary No.Fest to date. Introducing a visual art program, art walk, 21+ after hours, opening night, and world music sub-program.

No.Fest kicks off with St. Johns' first, Last Friday Art Walk, starting at 7pm in 7 galleries. Celebrating opening night is The Incredible Kid with a Bangin! International Urban Folk Dance. He will spin international dance bangers free in the Historic Town Square. Peak around the neighborhood for multi media installations presented by Grand Detour, and check out the music happening in Proper Eats and Legong.

Early Bird Children's Show wholesomely starts the FullDay of performance, with an interactive improvisational performance called Junior Jam, sponsored by Sound Roots, plus many great family shows up to 2pm. The Noon kick-off in the Square will be the Creative Composers Community of Portland, presenting new original big band and chamber music. Introducing a 21+ after hours program with the Global Getdown: Dr. J vs. Mr. Wu bringing international funk, dub, and hip hop to the hood, plus Lickity's lazer light rock show at Slim's. And in between these two extremes will be 12 hours of variety, like the fierce Lions of Batucada, David Ornette Cherry with Impressions of Energy, Blue Cranes, dance curated by Tracy Broyles, Mudeye Puppet Theater, the visually stunning musical of Billygoat, and much more.
