This Saturday will be a benefit show to help pay legal fees of the activists who were recently arrested while protesting cruel and pointless animal experiments at the Oregon National Primate Research Center. The party will be this Saturday from  7-10pm at the red and black cafe located at 400 se 12th ave in portland.

“LotsandLots” is a puppet festival that will be happening in conjunction with the St Johns Farmer’s Market this saturday. Throughout the day there will be a puppet making station, giant marching puppets, puppet dance off, local drum lines, live music and more! The festival will be saturday from 10am to 3pm on N. The 10th Annual “Portland Zine Symposium” is this weekend. The Symposium is a free, two day conference and social gathering, celebrating independent publishing.  There will be over 30 hands-on workshops and discussions as well as plenty of opportunities to mingle and trade zines. The Beehive Design Collective is in Portland this weekend with their most recent masterpiece, The True Cost of Coal. The beehive collective has spent more then three years gathering stories from communities impacted by coal mining, and now its your chance to come learn about their experiences. Gather round a giant collaborative mural mapping out the big picture of where we get half our electricity - and what we're really paying for it, this sunday from 7-9:30pm @ Autonomy 316 NW 4th ave in Portland.
