Tonight at 6 pm, enjoy an opening reception for Hillsboro Plein Air 2010, as well as artists Susan Schenk and Michael Belshaw, at the Walters Cultural Arts Center located at 527 E Main Street in Hillsboro.
Susan Schenk is a collage artist from Wilsonville, who creates colorful collages of landscapes and still-lifes that may fool you into thinking they are photographs!
Michael Belshaw is a Hillsboro artist making his formal debut as a painter! His style ranges from folksy watercolor to a pointalist application made famous by French impressionist Georges Seurat.
At the reception, there will also be a house concert in the lobby.

Tonight at 6:30 pm is storytime, Family Storytime that is, at the Hillsboro Main Library – 2850 NE Brookwood Parkway, Hillsboro.
Picture books are read to the group interspersed with fingerplays and other activities. Lasts 30-45 minutes. We start with very simple stories and finish with more complex ones to appeal to the whole family.
This family fun event takes place every Tuesday this Summer.

Also tomorrow night at 7 pm, join the Cascade Blues Association, for its monthly general membership meeting, at the Melody Ballroom, located at 615 SE Alder Street in Portland.
Arthur “Fresh Air” Moore & J. Scott Clancey will perform the opening acoustic set, while the Robbie Laws Trio will perform the second electric set. All ages are welcome.

And tomorrow night at 8 pm, be ready to share and/or hear “everything from music and poetry to monologues” at the weekly open mic at the Alberta Street Pub, located at 1036 NE Alberta Street in Portland. Hosted by Tamara J. Brown, this 21 and over event has a sign-up at 7:30 pm sharp.
