Interviews with a WA timber activist, Michael Lange at FCG, & revisiting the Gulf with George...

In Washington State, the Department of Natural Resources has got something up its sleeve – a chainsaw, actually.  Just off I-5 near Woodlawn an old-growth  timber sale is underway and under the radar.  But residents are watching and even calling their community radio station since mainstream media has a bad habit of steering clear of some the uglier stories. At 10 am Friday morning concerned citizen, Chris Blodgett is meeting with the DNR Peter Goldfinch's assistant.  But as we stand now, the massive ancient trees are already falling.  If a tree falls in the forest, does mainstream media notice?  Apparently not.  You can call Chris for updates 503-939-1585.  Or better yet, break out the crampons, the ropes and the harness.  Get up in those trees. Two hundred years is more than enough to hold you up to the sky...
