Attend the Talkin’ ‘bout a Revolution Forum Series: a film showing of Behind the Rainbow: Post-Apartheid South Africa.  This film is showing TONIGHT, 7:00 pm, at the Bread and Roses Center, located at 819 North Killingsworth Street in Portland, on TriMet bus lines #4 and #72. Award-winning filmmaker, Jihan El-Tahri explores the evolution of the African National Congress (ANC) from liberation movement to ruling party and the divisions over ideology and economic policy that contribute to the persistence of racial inequalities and poverty.  Post-documentary discussion follows.   Door donation entry and international snack plates will be available an additional donation. What is everybody making such a big stink about?  Find out at the Free Composting Toilet Workshop...where the word “humanure” raises many questions:  Is it feasible? Is it safe? Is it legal? This free presentation and discussion will include topics such as: the environmental benefits, toilet construction, humanure harvest and maintenance, the legalities and more!   The workshop will be held Friday May 21st, from  6:00pm – 7:00pm at Madison High School, located at 2735 NE 82nd Avenue in Portland.  For more information email randall@tilth.org

Activists and Social Changers:  Get involved in the movement to end violence against women and children! Home Free, a program of Volunteers of America for women and children surviving domestic violence has openings for compassionate people to assist in their restraining order advocacy program. You will provide emotional support, safety planning and resource referrals. Training is provided in early June and covers dynamics of domestic violence, with an emphasis on legal issues.  For more information call 503-802-0494
