The Global Oneness Project presents a free film night recognizing the role of local communities in global change, on Friday, May 8th, starting at 5:30 pm at McMenamins-Kennedy School Movie Theater, located at 5736 N.E. 33rd Ave. in Portland.  The event will feature Guest speaker Orland Bishop, founder of ShadeTree Multicultural Foundation in Watts, Los Angeles, and a Q&A session with filmmaker Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee.  More information at globalonenessproject.org

The Coalition for a Livable Future is gearing up for their 2009 Regional Livability Summit held on May 20th, and is looking for volunteers to help with this year's event. Volunteering at the Summit is a great way to get connected to the work The Coalition is doing in our region and to meet people from many different sectors and areas of expertise, all working to advance equity and sustainability. The Washington County Cooperative Library Services in partnership with the Library Information Network of Clackamas County, are pleased to co-host the nationally touring Library2Go Digital Bookmobile, an immersive download experience, NEXT Thursday, May 14 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. The tour event will be located 3205 SW Cedar Hills Boulevard, in Beaverton. The hands-on experience will feature the libraries' audiobook and video download service at this free event. Readers of all ages are invited.  More information at wccls.org
