Zahra Alkabi, director and founder of Save Refugees, will present on the impact of the US occupation on Iraqi women and the US female soldiers serving in Iraq, with part of the presentation featuring a film "Female Faces of War: Mothers, Sisters, and Soldiers", which  explores how women are fighting back against the war and occupation and her organization’s Apology and Forgiveness Campaign. Join the discussion, TONIGHT, startn at 6:30 pm.  Everyone is welcome at this FREE meeting, with childcare provided. Oregon Tradeswomen, Inc. welcomes your participation in the 17th Annual Women in Trades Career Fair! The Fair is an effective way to discover career possibilities in the construction, mechanical, utility, and other trades. This is a chance for women and girls to meet tradeswomen, use power tools, operate equipment, and learn about apprenticeships and high-paying, highly skilled career opportunities in the trades.   Today & Friday are school girls' days and this Saturday is women's day.  The Women in Trades Career Fair will be held at the NECA/IBEW Electrical Training Center, 16021 NE Airport Way in Portland.  More information at tradeswomen.net

Volunteers are needed for the June 13 Gorge Ride, a bike ride from the Gorge Discovery Center near The Dalles to the Senator Mark O. Hatfield West Trailhead near Hood River.  Volunteers are needed for registration and to staff rest stops.  This is a fundraising ride for the Friends of the Historic Columbia River Highway, a nonprofit group supporting the restoration and reconnection of the historic highway through the Columbia River Gorge.    For more information, visit the web site at hcrh.org
