Greetings Cascadia! My name is Steve, and this is the KBOO Community Calendar for Wednesday, July Fifteenth, 2009.

Portland's Bicycle Transportation Alliance is offering a FREE Class on Oregon’s vehicle laws from a bicyclist’s perspective with Bike Lawyer Ray Thomas, tonight, at 5:30 PM at the Bicycle Transportation Alliance office at 233 NW 5th Ave.  For more information, or to Pre-Register, call the Bicycle Transportation Alliance office at (503) 226-0676.

Milagro's is offering a free parenting class entitled For Crying Out Loud, tonight, at 7:00 pm.  This class is designed to give us a look inside ourselves to see why we want to stop crying and other child emotion when they arise.  In this course we also look at the profound benefits of crying and expressing emotion when an understanding listener is with us. Get a glimpse of what is possible for you when you're calm around emotion AND what's possible for the children in your life as they're given freedom to be as emotional as you. That's tonight at Milagro's, 5433 NE 30th Avenue, in Portland.

Come on down to Mississippi Pizza for some FREE Irish Fiddle Music tonight at 6:00 PM.  Cady Finlayson & Vita Tanga bring Irish music to Portland, with a free neighborhood show as part of their West Coast tour. This NYC-based duo blends traditional Irish tunes with American folk and world music influences. For more information, please visit www.mississippipizza.com

Portland Parks and Recreation continues their Summer Concerts in the Park all across the city this month and next.  See the KBOO Web Site for a link to the 2009 Concert Schedule.  Tonight's concert is at Willamette Park at, 6:30 PM (SW Macadam & Nebraska, south picnic area).  Come and watch Sassparilla play some red-hot Dustbowl Blues.  Or, if Hard-hitting Rock is more your style, then visit Dawson Park at 6:30 PM for Ocean 501.  Dawson Park is at N. Stanton & Williams.
