This is Paula with the KBOO Community Calendar for Tuesday, February 9th 2010.

Tonight at 7 pm is the Open Poetry Reading in the Gallery at Walters Cultural Arts Center 527 E Main Street Hillsboro, OR 97124.

 

Poets and lovers of poetry alike will enjoy these evenings of readings in the gallery, every 2nd Tuesday of the month. Readers and listeners are welcome to enjoy works by established or yet to be discovered talent. A sign-up sheet is available, so please arrive early.

Tomorrow on Wednesday, February 10th at 7 pm is The Milwaukie Poetry Series, located at the Ledding Library Pond House – 2215 SE Harrison Street, Milwaukie.

 

This series of readings takes place on the 2nd Wednesday of every month by local, established poets. This month’s guest poet will be Penelope Scambly Schott.

Also tomorrow night at 8 pm, be ready to share and/or hear “everything from music and poetry to monologues” at the weekly open mic at the Alberta Street Pub, located at 1036 NE Alberta Street in Portland. Hosted by Tamara J. Brown, this 21 and over event has a sign-up at 7:30 pm sharp.

Coming up on Tuesday, February 16th beginning at 6 pm are several international films of various genres as part of the NW Film Center’s 33rd Portland International Film Festival. The Festival runs from Thursday, February 11th to Saturday, February 27th.
