Audio invite to this invent:
Calling all Portland area youth:: do you identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, questioning or are an ally to the queer community?
KBOO is hosting an Open House for The Other Team recruitment :: we need YOUth to create this queer youth radio show!
During our open house, come on down to the radio station to check out the recording studios, find out how easy it is to make radio, and meet other KBOO volunteers creating queer radio.
Youth that are interested in creating The Other Team will have free training available via The Youth Collective, a group of youth who work together to create 2 hours of radio a month. Teens can earn service hours for school, and other benefits of volunteering, like being on the radio. Check out kboo.fm/youth for more information.
The Other Team is KBOO's queer youth radio show airing the first Tues/month @ 6pm. With this radio show was created, the intent was for local youth to produce and host it.
Do you want to talk about issues important to the LGBTQ community on the radio? Do you want to hear music and talent created by youth from the rainbow spectrum? Who is going to tell the news stories from the queer youth community not heard in the mainstream media?
We'll be having 2 open house events:
Sunday Dec 20 at 3 pm and Monday Dec 28 at 5pm
Interested youth can begin training over winter break!
