Tonight the Sierra Club will be hosting, “Paradise Faded: The Fight for Louisiana”, a film that analyzes the causes, effects, and solutions to wetland loss in coastal Louisiana, and illustrates the unique culture and ecology that are disappearing along the base of the Mississippi River as the federal government continues to stall restoration. There will be a Q & A discussion: moderated by former Delta Chapter Chair and Gulf Coast resident Leslie March. The 5th Annual Run for Congo Women takes place this Saturday, September 19th in Northwest Portland. This run or walk event is a fundraiser and celebration of hope for the women and children in the Congo. If you have a few hours available on Saturday, please consider volunteering your time. There are a variety of volunteer positions open, ranging from set-up, to handing out t-shirts and ribbons at the finish line.
