Do you rent in Beaverton? You're invited to a free forum on the rights and responsibilities of Renters, presented by the Dispute Resolution Center from 6 to 8pm tonight. Speakers from Oregon Legal Aid Services, the Community Action Rent Well Program, Fair Housing Council of Oregon, and the DRC will discuss their services, answer questions and and provide information regarding landlord tenant issues such as moving in, deposits, fees, late rent, discrimination, notices, evictions, repairs and moving out. The forum is from 6 to 8pm in the Beaverton City Library Auditorium at 12375 SW 5th Street in Beaverton.

If you have a backyard garden, today is the last day to register for the SnowCap Community Charities free coooking class aimed at helping backyard gardeners improve their skills at preparing meals from fresh produce. The two-hour workshop, "Cooking from the Garden", is taught by volunteers from the Oregon Food Bank and takes place on Saturday, September 26th from 10am to noon at the Rockwood United Methodist Church.
