The Firesign Theatre Radio Hour on 04/02/12
It's first Monday, so time for another thrilling episode of The Firesign Theatre Radio Hour.
This week, it's one from the Radio Hour Hour series entitled KWKWT-TV, which originally aired on KPPC-FM in Pasadena, on February 22nd, 1970.
On it, we'll hear what sounds like a sketched out version of concepts later made more solid on Don't Crush That Dwarf, as well as another appearance my Mutt and Smutt and we hear Peter Bergman spin a tale of thwarting some would-be thieves.
This is a slightly truncated version of this episode, as all programs in the Radio Hour Hour series run approximately one and a half hours, ironically enough, while all other series programs run just a tad under an hour. To get the complete show, I recommend the excellent book and DVD-R set Duke of Madness Motors, compiled by Firesign archivist Taylor Jessen, with all program episodes, comprehensive show listings and episode run-sheets, articles by all participants, collages, hand-scribbled notes and more. It's available from Seeland Records and wherever really weird books and records are sold.
The Firesign Theatre Radio Hour appears every 2nd and 4th Monday evening, alternating with The Talking Earth.
