From working with Abbie Hoffman to Occupy Wall Street, she's been helping make change for 4 decades

Paul Roland interviews Lisa Fithian about her four decades of experience as an activist and organizer. Fithian has been involved in a multitude of campaigns and struggles, starting in high school as both student body president and involvement with an underground newspaper. She worked with Abbie Hoffman in the mid-1980's, with Witness for Peace opposing US support for Central American dictators, with Justice for Janitors in the '90's, the Seattle anti-WTO protests, opposition to the war in Iraq, the Gaza peace flotilla, Occupy Wall Street and much more. She's got lot's of energy. She was in town the past few days to do a series of workshops with Rising Tide Portland and with student activists at Portland State University. She is active with the Alliance of Community Trainers (trainersalliance.org). You can find out more about her work and perspective at her website, organizingforpower.org.
