Program Underwriting: Business Support that is Noncommercial and Sustainable

KBOO is open to the public! To visit the station, contact your staff person or call 503-231-8032.

KBOO underwriting is good for the station, the listener, and the underwriter
KBOO listeners are savvy; you tune in for news you’re not supposed to know and music curated by hundreds of diverse experts. You also depend on the quality of signal that only comes from a noncommercial source. While KBOO does not sell airtime for commercials, we do seek businesses and organizations to help sponsor, or “underwrite,” specific programs. To safeguard KBOO’s noncommercial quality, KBOO uses one of the nation’s most stringent set of restrictions to determine who is eligible to underwrite our programs. KBOO does not knowingly accept underwriting from organizations which are involved in weapons manufacturing; which can be shown to discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, orientation, origin, age, marital status; tolerate sexual harassment; use unfair labor practices; have been shown to be environmentally irresponsible; and other criteria. This means that when you hear an underwriting acknowledgment on KBOO you can rest assured that we have partnered with sustainable local and regional businesses owned by people just like you: members of the community committed to supporting the access, training, and programming that KBOO provides. And you can feel good about supporting KBOO underwriters the next time you are looking for goods and services (check kboo.fm/underwriters for a complete list)(check kboo.fm/underwriters for a complete list). If you own a business you can promote your work to the KBOO Community through program underwriting; please contact Justin Miller, Director of Underwriting, at 503/231-8032 or underwriting [at] kboo.org, or by pointing your browser to kboo.fm/underwriting.
