Hundreds of Oregon and Washington residents gathered yesterday on the Columbia River Crossing Bridge between Portland and Vancouver to kick off National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Month. The tenth annual Hands Across the Bridge event included ceremonies and native drumming on both the Vancouver and Portland sides of the Columbia River .
