Pregnant Women in Prison

program:
Prison Pipeline
program date:
Mon, 03/28/2011

Brenda Escobar, friend and engineer for Prison Pipeline, presented a report about pregnant women in prison. She talked about the cruel and unusual hardships these women face, as well as some of the legislature that is working on changing the system. (Thank you, Brenda – good job!)

ANNOUNCING A CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS: Someone is needed to help Books for Prisoners. Once every week (or two) about ten boxes of donated books can be picked up in Beaverton and delivered to Books for Prisoners to Alex. For more information, call Alex at 503.740.4375 or email him at pdxbookstoprisoners@riseup.net.

Anyone who helps out would be doing a really fine thing for the prisoners in Oregon.

Next week, April 4, 2011, the Prison Pipeline guest will be Gary Sims, the Oregon state administrator of Religious Services and volunteer programs.
