This is Paula with the KBOO Community Calendar for Tuesday, June 15th 2010.<?xml:namespace prefix = o />

Tonight at 7 pm is The Story behind the Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center with Christine Rontal as part of the Spoken Word Series at Walters Cultural Arts Center 527 E Main Street Hillsboro, OR 97124.

The Executive Director of the Virginia Garcia Memorial Foundation, Christine Rontal, tells the captivating story of a little girl named Virginia Garcia and the history of the health centers that were inspired by her death in 1975.

Since then, Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center has provided healthcare to the communities of Washington and Yamhill Counties with a special emphasis on migrant and seasonal farmworkers and others with barriers to receiving health care.

For this edition of Spoken Word, a series held every 3rd Tuesday of the month, come and be inspired by this incredible tale of how a community, coming together, can truly make a difference.<?xml:namespace prefix = v />
