General Strike in Oakland, and where Halloween comes from

Tom Becker is our host, and we will hear

  • An interview about the prospects for a General Strike in Oakland, called by Occupy Oakland. It could be very dramatic, Oakland being a union town with very active ILWU and Teamsters on the scene.
  • Tom fills us in on where the celebration of Halloween comes from.
  • Two songs about death row, with commentary from Old Mole Radical Musicologist Brad Duncan.
  • The Movie Moles review The Black Power Mix Tape, made from film footage shot by Swedish film makers from 1967-75 and never before seen.  It's now showing in Portland.

Thanks to our very generous supporters for their help during KBOO's membership drive. If you didn't have a chance then, drop a few bucks in the Donation Jar at the top of this page. Let us know you care!
