Robert Hillary King is visiting Oregon with his new autobiography, From the Bottom of the Heap: The Autobiography of Black Panther Robert Hillary King. He will be speaking TONIGHT, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, at Legal Research Center, Law School Campus, Lewis & Clark College, located at 10015 Southwest Terwilliger Boulevard in Portland.Robert King’s story of surviving 29 years in solitary confinement as a member of the Angola 3 is one of inspiration, courage, and the triumph of the human spirit. For Earth Day 2010, Foster Indy Mart is collecting non-perishable food items and used cell phones. The food will be distributed to the Mt. Scott-Arleta community and the phones will either be refurbished and put back in use by survivors of domestic violence or sexual assault through the Portland Women's Crisis Line, or responsibly disposed of through EarthShare Oregon, a local non-profit. You bring the gifts and they'll supply some Earth friendly refreshments. -- a great way to celebrate Earth Day! "Slavery Still Exists" is a week-long, student initiated awareness campaign at the University of Portland focusing on the issue of Human Trafficking. All are invited to the campus event TONIGHT, 7:00 pm in St. Mary's Lounge/Bell Tower, located at 5000 N. Willamette Blvd. in POrtland.  House State Representatives Brent Barton and Jefferson Smith, along with Commissioner Diane McKeel, will explain what is being done and what needs to be done in order to help these vulnerable individuals who are forced into the sex trade. Then, immediately following, a candlelight vigil and letter writing opportunity will be held in honor of the victims and survivors of Human Trafficking.  More information at
