Interview with Country music star Chely Wright, who just came out as lesbian

In 1999 Chely Wright's dreams came true.  She became a country music star with her hit, “Single White Female,” and topped other charts—People’s 50 Most Beautiful People list, FHMs’ Sexiest Women in Music—and she was collaborating, on stage and off, with some of the country’s most eligible bachelors. She performed around the globe, entertained the military troops, gained awards and mainstream success and maintained her belief in God, family and apple pie. It was everything Wright had dreamed of--well almost.
After years of anguish, and a brush with suicide, Chely Wright publicly revealed for the first time her big secret this week: she is gay.
The news, shocked the industry.  One of the first media outlets Chely spoke to was Curve , which will have Chely on their June cover (which comes out May 28th).  But, in a special collaboration with Curve and KBOO, you can hear excerpts of the April 15th interview with Chely and Curve Editor in Chief, Diane Anderson-Minshall on OutLoud, Tuesday, May 11th 6-7 pm!
Wright has just released a memoir, Like Me, which talks about juggling her secret sexuality with music stardom, and a new album, Lifted Off the Ground, which expresses her emotional turmoil over the loss of the love of her life and Chely's brush with suicide.
