Tonight I'll be joined with Michael Bunsen, the dorkbot pdx wizard of digital synthesis program, Pure Data. We'll be collaborating with Ryan Sullivan to construct and improvise a composition, directed by Ryan and myself. Pure Data is an open-source digital audio synthesis software program for Mac, Linux, and Windows, which allows the user to design virtually any sound and sound-sequence from scratch using a series of objects and commands. The design work is data intensive and the learning curve has kept me at bay for much longer than I'd like. Hopefully from this we'll all learn something.
