Host Marianne Barisonek speaks with producers of the film "Good Food". Good Food introduces us to the farmers, ranchers, stores and restaurants that are building a more sustainable food system. The film captures the beautiful rural landscapes and spectacular bounty from the high deserts of eastern Oregon to the lush, fertile valleys of the Pacific coast. It introduces us to the leaders who are bringing good food to tables across the region, including New Seasons, Country Natural Beef and Burgerville.
“Since the premiere of Good Food at the Seattle International Film Festival, theater audiences have responded with enthusiasm to the dedicated, ingenious farmers in the film, and feel inspired to get involved in local food," notes Good Food filmmaker Melissa Young. “For me, good food is nutritious and delicious for the consumer, good for farmers and farm workers, good for the restaurants and stores that feature their products and good for the land on which it is grown.”
Good Food is showing at Cinema 21 in Portland May 8th through May 14th.
