Far too simplistic with far too little time for true discussion

As one of those underemployed well-educated people who has moved back to Portland after 8 years away, I found the workshop format very constraining and far too simplistic with far too little time for true discussion and sharing with the entire audience.

I feel that the choice "Sustainability and the Natural Environment" encompasses ALL of the other choices so I voted for that each time we were given the choice, but I would have liked to had the chance to discuss that with the whole room.  I am part of a group that promotes walkable neighborhoods as one of the most important solutions to climate change and hence sustainability--the Congress for New Urbanism.  I felt frustrated not to be able to mention that I was also "voting" for "Neighborhoods & Housing" and "Design, Planning & Public Space" and "Transportation, Technology & Access"and . . .

Thanks,

Mary Vogel
