Greetings Cascadia! My name is Steve, and this is the KBOO Community Calendar for Wednesday, September Second, 2009.

Come help those DOING time PASS the time...  With BOOKS!!!  Every Wednesday evening, Portland Books To Prisoners has a Mailing Party to pack up and mail books to the incarcerated.  The weekly mailing is held in the garage at the end of the driveway at 1112 NE Morton, Btwn Ainsworth & Dekum, E. of MLK Blvd.  These books are sent to prisoners all across the country. We are always in need of new or used dictionaries and thesauruses.  For more information, please visit pdxbookstoprisoners.org

The Portland Central American Solidarity Committee meeting is tonight at 7pm at Liberty HallPCASC is a grassroots organization that strives to educate and mobilize community members, workers and students around struggles for human rights, social justice, and immigrant rights  throughout the Americas. The General meeting is for anyone interested in Latin American Solidarity or fighting free trade agreements.  Liberty Hall is located at 311 N Ivy, south and west of Fremont and Vancouver/Williams.  For more information, visit www.pcasc.net

Do you like to walk? Would you like some exercise during your lunch hour? Then, Take a Hike! Join friends of the PSU Woman's Resource Center for Thursday Lunch Hour Neighborhood Walks, every Thursday at Noon, ending on September 17th.  We meet at the WRC courtyard at PSU at noon, and leave promptly at 12:05.  VIsit the WRC Web Site (http://www.wrc.pdx.edu/news/calendar.php) for details.
