Discourse on ZunZuneo, Cuba, earthquakes and the results of too many people...

Earthquakes happen every day
In the past 24 hours, (5 p.m. Monday through 5 p.m. Tuesday) the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network at the University of Washington has recorded 17 earthquakes. The largest was a magnitude 2.4 temblor 40.5 miles southwest of Penticton, British Columbia.
But the 2.4 quake was barely felt -- like most of the 20,000 earthquakes a year documented by the National Earthquake Information Center of the U.S. Geological Survey, or about 55 a day worldwide.

Last month, nonprofit Oregon BEST announced that it and the Portland Development Commission were awarding $150,000 to a Wilsonville company developing drone technology.   And we all know one thing if nothing else about technology: it can start out movng in one direction and switch vectors when the paying pblic least suspects it.

Can it really be happening? Could the American workforce be about to receive the shot in the arm it has needed for so long? The government's landmark Americans with Disabilities Act settlement with Rhode Island on Tuesday is expected to move people with profound disabilities out of low-paying jobs in sheltered workshops into the general workforce, a move federal lawyers are calling a blueprint for the nation.

Last night former secretary of State Hilary Clinton appealed to the crowd at the Keller Auditorium,  "Don't vote for people who proudly tell you they won't compromise," at the Keller Auditorium that gave her standing ovations at the beginning and end of her speech.  Super-hawk Clinton, is widely considered the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016.  he Portland event began a week of speech-making in several West Coast cities while once again turning aside questions about whether she would run again.
Here comes the Climate Convergence Summit: Monday, April 28th Portand Rising Tie and others urge you to put some muscle behind the rhetoric.

Think first before you dismiss the iddea all together:  The Josephine County Sheriff's Office is understaffed and desperate for help, so they're mulling whether to turn to local volunteers to help process crime scenes.
If other sentient beings exist somewhere out there they must surely beleive that Planet Earth is the all-time intergalactic reality program. Here's proof:  USAID's secret Cuban Twitter program hired Alen Lauzan Falcon, a Havana-born satirical artist based in Chile, to propose text messages to be sent to Cuban users. Neither Lauzan nor the Cuban subscribers realized the U.S. government was behind ZunZuneo, the social media network.
“A key goal of USAID’s Cuba program is to break the ‘information blockade’ or promote ‘information sharing’ amongst Cubans and that assistance will include the use or promotion of new ‘technologies’ and/or ‘new media’ to achieve its goals,” USAID suggested. That “goal” was included in Congressional Budget Justifications from 2008 to 2013. But that does not prove that Congress was informed of the specific project or that anyone who found out about the project and requested details was provided with information to conduct oversight.
