Alicia Jo Rabins, of Girls In Trouble, talks to Liz Schwartz and performs two new songs.

Liz Schwartz's interview with Alicia Jo Rabins, founder of Girls In Trouble, an original art-pop song cycle about women in Torah. GIT has released two albums with Jdub Records and has toured across the US, Canada, England, Italy and Sweden. Alicia is currently working on A Kaddish for Bernie Madoff, an experimental performance piece about the intersection of mysticism and finance, which will premiere in New York City in the autumn of 2012.

This interview first aired on the Portland Yiddish Hour on July 1, 2012. It also includes two new songs from Alicia: "Open the Ground," and "A Kaddish for Bernie Madoff" (the Kaddish was recorded at the LABA Festival at the 14th St. Y in New York City in May 2012).
