'Extreme' Cop Commerce, Targeted Assassinations and The Village Buildinbg Convergence

‘Extreme Products’ says it all.  One man – one policeman, that is – wants to do business with Portland and to do it, he is willing to petition the Portland City Council for an ordinance that would waive the City Code that protects the City from the pitfalls of conflict of interest among other illegal stumbling blocks.   So what does ‘Extreme Products’ actually make?  Let’s look at the advertisements… "Oregon's Premier Law Enforcement & Fire Dealer 'Built by Cops for Cops'," specializing in gear for law enforcement, fire, military and security.

vbc.cityrepair.org/ The Village Rebuilding Convergence link...because the rest of it is a clusterfuck of epic proportions...

Mayor Sam Adams, who serves as police commissioner, and Police Chief Mike Reese placed the request on the council's consent agenda as an emergency ordinance, meaning no public discussion would be allowed and it would go into effect immediately upon a vote.   Oregon's Progressive Party has objected, and requested the item be pulled off the consent agenda.

The ordinance is the second controversial item in as many months that's been submitted by the Police Bureau and placed on the council's consent agenda, restricting public input. A proposal to place police surveillance cameras on private property in Old Town was pulled off at the last minute because of an objection.
