This is the community calendar for Tuesday April 7, 2009

 April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month.  The Women’s Resource Center at Portland State University presents a double feature Wednesday April 8 at 7 p.m. in the Center, consisting of two Carol Leigh films about the sex industry and sex workers.  A discussion will follow the films.   The titles are "Outlaw Poverty, Not Prostitutes" and "Sex Workers Take Back the Night.”

 There will be a free lecture on sustainable garden lunches on Wed Apr 8 from noon to 1pm at the Multnomah County downtown library.

 Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church conducts weekly DivorceCare For Kids programs to help children heal from the pain of divorce and separation.  Everyone is welcome each Wednesday evening at 7 pm to 8 pm at Mt Tabor Presbyterian Church. 5441 SE Belmont Street.  Information and links are at the Church website: www.mttaborchurch.net

 The People's Farmers Market takes place Wednesdays, 2:00 - 7:00 p.m.  It's a year-round market at 3029 SE 21st Avenue, one block north of Powell Blvd.  For more information call Ariana Jacob at (503) 232-9051

 Knitters, crocheters, needlepoint artists and other crafters come to the CubeSpace Wednesday nights from 5 to 6 p.m. to show off your current project, ask for advice on a problem area, or just enjoy the company. The Cubespace is at 622 SE Grand Ave., Portland.

 There is a free sack lunch concert Wednesday April 8 at noon, at the Old Church, 1422 SW 11th Ave in Portland.  The program has not been announced as of this writing; go to the Old Church website, www.oldchurch.org, to see what will be presented.
