Restorative Listening

Celeste Carey and Judith Mowry are co-founders of the Restorative Listening Project. The restorative listening project is a monthly forum that uses story telling to create a greater understanding of gentrification in North and NE Portland. The Restorative Listening Project is based on the principles of Restorative Justice which says that only when those most impacted are heard, acknowledged and efforts have been made to repair the harm can the community be made whole again. We’ll listen to an interview with Celeste Carey and Judith Mowry, conducted by Arlie Sommer, recorded at the Voices of Portland event hosted by the Dil Pickle club on May 26th,. 2011. We’ll also hear from Noni Cause and Pastor Don Fraizer, from recordings made at Restorative Listening Sessions.
