Community Calendar January 13, 2011

A local non-profit, nConnect, is recruiting volunteers to mentor low-income high school students and dislocated workers who are interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (including accounting) careers. Volunteers with accounting, architecture, computer science and engineering backgrounds are particularly needed. Mentoring can take place online, on the phone, and/or via face-to-face meetings.  The commitment is to communicate with a mentee at least once a month for 6 months.  Mentors are needed now through June 2011. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in someone’s life by sharing what you know about your profession and the world of work.  More information at nconnectnw.org or call 360-567-5557.
