December 10 is the UN-recognized Human Rights Day. Amnesty International Group 48 will hold a Write-a-thon to write letters to prisoners of conscience in conjunction with a holiday potluck. There will also be a special drawing for an autographed copy of Amy Goodman’s book, Breaking the Sound Barrier, and a DVD of Amy Goodman interviewing Noam Chomsky on the news program, Democracy Now! in April 2009. Must be present to win! This event will be held Friday, December 10, 7:30-9pm at the First Unitarian Church, 2nd floor, located at 1011 SW 12th Avenue in Portland. Must RSVP at aipdx.org
