Interviews with Ursula Rojas-Weiner on Beaverton's Mex-Fest & Malik Rahim with the truth from NOLA

Mass media hit the ground – just not the Common Ground – running over the course of the fifth anniversary of the ‘waterboarding’ of New Orleans. The image is apt for a number of reasons.  Waterboarding - as the world knows - simulates the terror of drowning without the money shot.  And that’s what the New Orleans known to the real people experienced.  The real citizens of New Orleans want to return home.  But home is more than a house for them:  it’s a chain of  lives and stories and traditions running deep in the vein of American history.  Will the chain remain unbroken?  Unlike the promises we made..."Big Easy"  Indeed...Do the right thing.

Donations can be sent to: Common Ground Relief, 1800 Deslonde Street, New Orleans, LA, 70117, or at www.commongroundrelief.org

Moving right along:  Rahm Emanuel as mayor of Chicago?  Believe it could happen.  And what a relief that would be for Democrats who stand aghast at the spectre of Zionism on the Hill.  White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel has made no secret of his desire to run for mayor of his hometown, Chicago one day.  Could the day be nigh?

From the US  Department of Offense:  Terry Jones, The extremist leader of a small Florida church that espouses anti-Islam philosophy says he was determined to go through with his plan to burn copies of the Quran on September 11th The vicious little pus-bucket won't be dissuaded.  There's pressure from the White House, religious leaders and others to call it off.   Even General David Petraeus, the top U.S.Grand Poobah and NATO commander in Kabul, took the rare step of a military leader taking a position on a domestic matter:  Petraeus to the A/P:    "images of the burning of a Quran would undoubtedly be used by extremists in Afghanistan - and around the world - to inflame public opinion and incite violence."
