After Representative Earl Blumenauer refused to answer questions on his support for the US-Peru Free Trade Agreement during his town hall meeting on Sunday, a group of local activists conducted a blockade and sit-in early this morning in his Portland office.

After the Israeli government declared the Gaza Strip a QUOTE ‘enemy entity’ this week, dozens of peace groups around the world have issued condemnations of the move.

Condoleezza Rice and other U.S. officials praised the Israeli gesture, which is generally seen as a setback for peace.

Locally, Jewish Voice for Peace has come out strongly against Israel’s latest move. We spoke with Will Seaman, a representative of the group:
