11 am: The Release party for Octavia's Brood, the locally-edited compilation of black science fiction writers imagining other worlds

12 pm: Arresting Power, a Panel Discussion on police violence and racism in Portland (DVD of the film available as a thank you gift for joining KBOO)

1 pm: an Interview with Kelly Brown Douglas about her book Stand Your Ground: Black Bodies and the Justice of God

At 1:30 we’ll feature a never-before-broadcast talk by the late Manning Marable on "How Capitalism Underdeveloped Black America" (and offer copies of the new edition of his book as a thank-you gift)

At 2:30, we’ll feature Ta’Nehisi Coates on white supremacy and being black in America.

And at 3, it’s radical black scholar Cornel West speaking at the Unitarian Universalist National Assembly in Portland this past July.

This is the last day of KBOO's membership drive, and we are behind!  We need to raise $25,000 more to reach our $95,000 goal.
