Free Political Prisoner Leonard Peltier!
Adam Carpinelli will interview Peter Clark, co-director of the International Leonard Peltier Defense Committee. Leonard Peltier is a long term u.s.-held Indigenous Political Prisoner. Peltier has been locked away for 38 years in federal prison, wrongly convicted for the murder of two FBI agents during a shootout on the Pine Ridge Reservation in 1975. The incident at Oglala, which Peltier is framed for, takes us back to the violent confrontations at Wounded Knee and Pine Ridge in the seventies, and then to today’s Indian reservations where the government’s plans for uranium mining and waste dumping are still being resisted by Native activists. The discussion will focus on international, national and local organizing, and how folks can get involved with the International Leonard Peltier Defense Committee.
