Part 2-Music and live programming to give voice to untold stories of Filipino Americans

October is Filipino American History Month (Part 2)

Tune in from 6 p.m. to midnight for the Filipino American History Month Takeover with KBOO's Pamela Santos (Bread and Roses) and DJ Grimrock (One Two, One Two ZULUUUUU!!!). This night is all about giving voice to largely untold stories of Filipino Americans who have shaped American culture and the course of history.

Join us for Part 2 when DJ Grimrock will bring you more on Fil-Am contributions to hip hop, influences to many Fil-Am artists and live programming to talk about what it’s like to be Filipino American.  More music and live programming to close out the special 10pm to midnight in Part 3.

October is recognized as FAHM to honor the first recorded presence of Filipinos in the continental United States. On October 18, 1587, “Luzones Indios” came ashore from the Spanish galleon Nuestra Senora de Esparanza  in Morro Bay, California before America was America.
