Work and Capital: Going Away

program date:
Mon, 12/30/2013
The solution to poverty and inequality is widely assumed to be jobs: more jobs with better pay.  But capital is committed to increased productivity -- more profits with less labor.  The more capital succeeds, the fewer jobs.  But ultimately, profit is value captured from labor. So if jobs disappear, so will capital.  Old Mole Joe Clement talks with blogger and activist Jehu about this contradiction.  Jehu blogs at The Real Movement, and his twitter account is here.
