Political Perspectives on 09/04/13
Today's program has three segments:
First Don Merrill speaks with Tom Carpenter, the Executive Director of Hanford Challenge, a non profit dedicated to the clean up of the Hanford Nuclear site in Washington state, and Paul Gunter, an International Specialist at Beyond Nuclear, an organization that is working to eliminate nuclear weapons and nuclear power, about similarities between the problems at Japan's ill-fated Fukishima Daichi nuclear plant and the aging Hanford facility.
We also hear a segment from Background Briefing featuring an interview with Sara Ayech about attempts to save the Arctic from oil exploration.
And finally we hear economist Richard Wolff from the show Economic Update. He comments on the inequities of the U.S. tax system.
