This health forum is a conversation with Sarah Finger McDonald, the Oregon chapter leader for Moms Demand Action. The group is dedicated to promoting health and safety and measures that could help to keep children safe from violence. Formed after the Sandy Hook school killings in 2012, it quickly spread around the country. Moms Demand Action works closely with the Gun Sense Voter campaign, which, while respecting the rights of gun owners, seeks to enroll voters to pledge to support background checks on gun purchases and other commonsense means to reduce wanton gun violence.
