MACLAREN YOUTH POETRY PROJECT
Karen James with Dakotah Kennedy, an Oregon Youth Authority volunteer, present the Verbal Escape Poetry Project held in April 2014 at the MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility. This was the first poetry slam competition and the event was coordinated by Dakotah Kennedy along with MacLaren youth and Kathleen Fullerton from Hope Partnership. Local and national slam poets performed along with the MacLaren youth and also judged the performers.
